This Privacy Policy explains how CostVane collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and AI cost-control API.

Information we process

CostVane processes account and contact information you provide, API authentication identifiers, request metadata, token counts, provider and model identifiers, estimated or actual cost, optional attribution dimensions such as customer or feature identifiers, and operational logs needed to secure and support the service.

Information CostVane does not require

The service is designed not to require model prompts, model outputs, or your model-provider API credentials. CostVane does not proxy your model traffic. Please do not send sensitive content in optional tags or attribution fields.

How we use information

We use information to provide cost estimates, usage attribution, budgets, summaries, webhooks, security controls, customer support, service reliability, and product improvement. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers and disclosure

We may use hosting, infrastructure, communications, security, analytics, and billing providers to operate CostVane. We disclose information when required by law, to protect the service and its users, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and security

We retain information only as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect against abuse. We use access controls, encrypted webhook secrets, request redaction, and other administrative and technical measures. No system is completely secure.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of applicable personal information, subject to legal and operational limitations. You can also stop sending optional attribution fields at any time.

International use and children

CostVane may process information in the United States and other locations where service providers operate. The service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13.
